THE STORY

Hello,

My name is Petya Nachev and I would like to tell you the story of my youngest brother, who I am afraid I might lose at any moment.

Life is sometimes unfair. Dead is hanging upon him. You can’t imagine how much he loves the life, how happy he is about everything, how he gives hope to all of us. He has been like this since he was a child. Always a successful student, extremely responsible, and very ambitious.

After he graduated high school he went to work in Czech Republic. And then it all started. It happens on 04/06/2008. During work he lifts a heavy part of a robot in order to be moved and he falls on the floor without any reason. An ambulance arrives immediately and he is taken to the hospital. The doctors start complicated  surgery. They called my husband first, who took all the burden on his shoulders and together with my father they went in Czech Republic.

When they arrived they understood what had happened. It turned out that my brother suffers from congenital aneurism in the brain. The aneurism popped when he had lifted the heavy part during his work.

Fortunately, this happens in Czech Republic,  since such a surgery is not possible in Bulgaria at this time.

The doctors in Ostrava save his life by executing a bloodless surgery. They fill the aneurism with one platinum spiral and micro catheters. The doctors make unsuccessful attempt to place a second spiral which cause several micro strokes. After the complicated surgery Lubo is in coma. When he wakes up we understand  that there are consequences. He loses his short-term memory.

After two months in the hospital he came back to Bulgaria. His memory was getting slowly better and we all were very happy about his recovery until we went to a regular examination. The doctors in Czech Republic had told us that we need to make NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) every 5-6 years. This shocked the doctors in Bulgaria. It turned out that we need to check his condition every year, and what is worse, it turned out that the surgery in Ostrava was not executed completely successfully. The aneurism is not filled properly and now is full with blood. This shook us again. After consultation with specialist and examinations, the doctors stated that Lubomir needs a new surgery. Otherwise the aneurism may pop any moment even from the smallest effort.

Fortunately, the surgery can be made in Bulgaria. The surgery costs 17 280 BGN but we need to cover the expenses on our own. Here comes our biggest pain and fear. We are powerless in front of this amount. The only way I can help my youngest brother is with this call for help.

But my brother has taught me one thing – never lose hope. Therefore, we decided to ask the strangers for help. We opened a donation account:
